Check the selected files
- Unsupported Patch Format
- The contents do not identify an IPS, BPS, or UPS patch. Select the actual patch file, not an archive, text page, or base ROM. Renaming a file does not change its format.
- Only .gba files are supported
- This applies to the base-game selection. Choose the base .gba required by the patch.
- Unable to read the base ROM or patch
- Reselect the affected file and confirm its storage is accessible. A folder-based library game still depends on its source location and read permission.
- Invalid Patch / corrupted patch
- The patch cannot be processed or fails its integrity check. Compare it with an intact authorized copy and the patch creator’s instructions. Do not change its extension to work around the error.
Distinguish the base from the output
The patch does not match the selected base ROM
Recheck the required game version, region, revision, and modification state. BPS and UPS processing compares the selected source against size and checksum information in the patch. A matching display name alone is insufficient.
IPS lacks the same source checksum check. Even if an IPS patch applies, independently verify that you chose the required base. Do not interpret the absence of a mismatch error as proof of compatibility.
The patched output failed verification
The produced result did not pass the patch’s output check. Recheck both files, retry with intact authorized copies, and retain the original. Do not modify a checksum to suppress the failure.
For the intended selection order, return to the patching guide.
Size limits and library results
The selected patch file is too large means it exceeded the tool’s 64 MiB input limit. The patched ROM would be too large can mean the declared output exceeds the 64 MiB ceiling, or the operation ran out of available memory.
These are patching safeguards, not a promise that every output up to that size is a playable game. Do not split or truncate a patch to evade them.
If the result already exists, choose Open Game to reach that library entry. If the output cannot be added, check storage and source files. The app also checks the result as a GBA game before accepting it.
For a persistent failure, record the exact message, patch format, expected base version, and app/device versions. Check contact availability; do not send the ROM itself.
